1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Karrat application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Karrat is an AI-powered personal finance application that provides tools for net worth tracking, account syncing, financial projections, AI coaching, and partner collaboration. The App is available on iOS.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Karrat. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Account Registration

To use Karrat, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to update your information as necessary.

5. Subscription and Payments

5.1 Subscription Plans

Karrat is a subscription-based service. Premium is available as a monthly ($14.99/month) or annual ($79.99/year) subscription, with full access to all features.

5.2 Billing

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's terms and conditions for in-app purchases. Prices are subject to change with notice.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

5.4 Free Trials

Subscriptions may include a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription.

6. Financial Data and Third-Party Services

6.1 Plaid Integration

Karrat uses Plaid, Inc. to connect to your financial institutions. By connecting an account, you authorize Plaid to access your financial data on your behalf. You are also subject to Plaid's terms and privacy policy.

6.2 AI Features

Karrat's AI Finance Coach provides general financial information and suggestions. It is not a substitute for professional financial, tax, or legal advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.

6.3 Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate financial data, Karrat relies on third-party data providers. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any financial data displayed in the App. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of your financial information.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to transmit malware or malicious code
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the App to engage in fraud or deceptive practices

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, content, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of Karrat and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written permission.

9. Group and Sharing Features

When you join or create a group, your connected financial data becomes visible to other group members. You are responsible for understanding what information is shared and for managing your group memberships. You can leave a group at any time.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KARRAT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FINANCIAL LOSSES, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF PROFITS.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Karrat harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the applicable jurisdiction.
